Greetings Titan family,
With September’s arrival, we begin to see a routine forming at school. Routines are useful for many reasons, but one that stands out for our students is that it provides a sense of security and familiarity. Children, generally, feel safe when they are in predictable and familiar environments. When a child feels safe, she is more likely to take chances and try new or challenging activities. Thus, the learning experience is enhanced.
At home, establishing a routine that supports a child’s school schedule is important. We encourage families to create a structure at home that includes time to read, time to play, time to help out around the house, and a consistent bedtime that allows a child to get an appropriate amount of sleep.
Here are a few items for the week.
- Monday, September 6, is Labor Day. The campus will be closed. School resumes next week on Tuesday, September 7.
- Spirit Team (Red and Blue) shirts have been ordered. We had our first Titan Spirit Assembly today. Future Titan Spirit Days will be on the school calendar and announced. Students should wear their Spirit Team shirt on those days. If you are new to HTES (or had to get a new shirt), you will get your shirt when they arrive later this month.
Thank you again for your support. Have a wonderful 3-day weekend.
It’s a great time to be a Titan,
