Holy Trinity Episcopal School Titans

Greetings Titan family,

Let’s address the elephant in the room. That’s what we did in this week’s Titan assembly earlier today. Basically, the story is about an adult elephant who is held in place by a small thin rope. Confused, a passerby asks the elephant’s trainer why the elephant simply doesn’t break the rope and go free. The trainer explains that as a young elephant, the rope was strong enough to keep it in place and as the elephant grew, it was conditioned to believe the rope was unbreakable.

Often, the thing that holds us back from achieving our goals is that we were conditioned to believe we couldn’t do something. Our students were challenged today to pay attention to when their brains tried to tell them that something was too hard to do. When they hear that, it was suggested that they clap one time and tell themselves to try their best and ask for help (if needed).

Switching gears, here are some important items to share for this week.

Step-Up Day

The current student Step-Up Day that was originally scheduled for January 24 will be held on January 31.

Annual Play Day/Parent Volunteer Meeting

February 2 will be our Annual Play Day. On that day, all classes will learn by playing all day. Free dress is allowed. Students are allowed to bring something to school to share and play with. However, please note the following guidelines.

  • Items brought to school should be shareable.
  • Please include a name to identify ownership in case an item is lost.
  • Electronic items are not allowed (phones, game systems, etc.).
  • Avoid bringing items of significant value or that would cause great distress if the item is damaged. Sometimes, things get damaged when played with. Leave the valuable or most cherished items at home.

We also have scheduled that morning, starting at 8am, a meeting in the commons for parents regarding volunteer opportunities and designing a path for TPA and volunteer efforts for the remainder of 22-22 and for 22-23. Please mark your calendar and try to attend this important meeting.

“Be a Titan”

The two “Be a Titan” events are on February 9 and February 12. Both are designed to welcome potential students to school and have them experience what it is like to “be a Titan.” The February 9 event is for students who will be in 1st – 5th grade next year. The February 12 event is for rising 3K – Kindergarten students. Both events will be from 9-11am. Families can RSVP on our website.

Re-Enrollment

Current family re-enrollment begins in February. A notice will be sent when the process goes live. If you are a family applying for tuition assistance, applications for the 2022-2023 school year are live now. Tuition assistance applicants are encouraged to complete the application as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you for your support and partnership.

It’s a great time to be a Titan,
