Greetings Titan family!

With the weather closure on Friday, I decided to send the weekly message out today instead of last week. There will be a new Friday message at the end of this week, too.

Last week, on Wednesday, we participated in the Global School Play Day. This was our 4th time doing so. As usual, it was a delightful day that highlights the many benefits of play as part of an excellent learning experience. Thank you to all our teachers and staff for playing, too!

This week, we are hosting a “Be a Titan” event for prospective students in grades 1-5 on Wednesday from 9-11am and for prospective 3K, 4K, and Kindergarten students on Saturday from 9-11am. If you have friends, neighbors, or colleagues, who may be interested in sending their children to HTES next year, this is a great opportunity to get to know our school. Please contact Ms. Escalante for more information or RSVP here.

We will have an important TPA (Titan Parents’ Association) meeting on Wednesday, February 23 at 8am in the Gym Commons/Dining Hall. Please mark your calendars and join us as we continue to align our volunteer efforts.

Finally, before I share important information about re-enrollment, the TPA is bringing back Friday Feasts!!! Friday Feasts are special lunches on Friday that families can sign up for their child to receive. This is optional, but encouraged as a way to build community. This month, there are 2 Friday Feasts. To sign up, please click this link. The cost of your child’s meals will be billed through your FACTS billing account. This is the preferred payment method, but if you must make a different arrangement to pay, please contact Ms. Escalante ([email protected]).

Re-Enrollment 2022-2023!

Re-enrollment begins today, February 8, and ends Monday, February, 28. After February 28, we offer open spots in classes to new applicants, then have open enrollment for any remaining spots after that. Re-enrolling by February 28 secures your spot for next year.

Instructions for re-enrolling will be sent in a separate message.

This is a vital month for planning for the 2022-2023 school year because most of the decisions we need to make are dependent on re-enrollment. Here are a few ways this month impacts our school:

  • Budgeting for learning materials/resources
  • Current faculty/staff contracts
  • Consideration for hiring additional staff

Over the past few years, we have improved our percentage of re-enrolled students. This is a positive sign of growth and we need your help to continue this momentum. This year, our goal is to re-enroll 70% of our students by the end of February. That is just 28 students! Our overall goal is between 80-85%, which would bring HTES near the national average for retention.

In order to help you re-enroll, please note the following.

  • Tuition and fees have been adjusted slightly to account for some of the increased costs of operating the school. Since our last tuition increase (2019), inflation is 9%. Our tuition increase is less than that. This announcement was part of the State of the School address I delivered on January 25. The new tuition and fees scheduled can be found here.
  • Families that re-enroll by February 28 qualify for a $500 tuition discount per child (to be adjusted on your 2022-2023 tuition balance).
  • The 5% sibling discount remains in place.
  • As with this year, there is an $800 enrollment fee due at the time of re-enrollment. If you need to speak with us about this fee, please contact me.
  • Tuition payments for the 2022-2023 school year begin in July.

If I can help you with your re-enrollment in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me. Our admissions goal next year is a minimum of 60 students with a budget goal of 80-85 students. So, please consider re-enrolling now and bringing one friend along with you!

Thank you again for your support.

It’s a great time to be a Titan,
