Everything changes. Schools are no exception.
When a teacher leaves a school, it is natural for some to worry about the impact made by such a departure. For schools, having a clear understanding of the qualities and values that made each teacher special is important when the time comes to fill openings on a faculty. Good schools identify those qualities in advance of any faculty departure and use that knowledge to preserve the core of what makes a school special.
At Holy Trinity, we are blessed to have a team of teachers who strive daily to model our core values: Respect, Compassion, and Integrity. These teachers are also genuinely committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment while providing an advanced and highly regarded academic program. These are the qualities we look for first when adding new teachers and staff to our team. One member of that team is Mrs. Meredith Crowe. Mrs. Crowe joined HTES in 2012. Since then, she has been a true servant to the school and its mission. She has provided an outstanding academic kindergarten experience for numerous children, and has been a wonderful team player on our staff.
Earlier this week, Mrs. Crowe informed me that she has made the very difficult decision to leave teaching to pursue a professional opportunity outside of schools. While the specifics of her future are part of her story to tell, I can share that her new professional adventure will be very good for her and her family. Mrs. Crowe’s last day at HTES will be May 7. After that, Mrs. Davis has agreed to step in and lead the class until the end of the year. Mrs. Crowe will be available to us for consultation as needed and is leaving lesson plans for Mrs. Davis.
Holy Trinity has begun a national search for a new kindergarten teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. This new team member cannot replace Mrs. Crowe. Rather, he or she will have an opportunity to bring his or her talents to a welcoming and supportive school community, and build upon a solid foundation and example set by Mrs. Crowe.
As we have more to share about that search, I will communicate that to the community.
Please join me in thanking Meredith for her many years of service to HTES and wishing her well in her new endeavors.
