Changes Coming in ’22-’23?

Greetings Titan family!

Today marks the first day of April. Spring is in full swing and a busy couple of months will take us to summer break. Here are today’s items for the start of April.

Over the course of the year, we have engaged in a large scale project to gather information from prospective families to help us with branding and marketing HTES to increase enrollment. We are now able to share with you two important findings and how we plan to address those beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.

One item in need of attention is our daily uniform. Feedback gathered indicated that we would be better served by transforming our look to be more aligned with private Australian prep schools. Armed with this information, we have been working with a designer to come up with ideas. This image represents the prototype we agreed to.

We also learned through the project that our mascot, the Titan, does not accurately represent the feelings and expectations of families in the community. Many alternatives were offered by those surveyed, but one stood out more than any other. As such, we are excited to announce that we will be moving away from the Titan in the fall and change our mascot to the “Hoppers.”

In keeping with the new mascot, we have created a spirit cheer. It goes like this:

Birdies fly

Bubbles pop

but Mighty Hoppers

Hop, Hop, Hop!

We hope these changes make your family’s experiences with us even more delightful. We look forward to rolling these out in the fall.

Happy April Fools’ Day.

Ok, here are the actual announcements (for real).

Donuts with Grownups

On Friday, April 8, we are hosting Donuts with Grownups (formerly known as Donuts with Dads) beginning at 7:50 am. All students are welcome to come and enjoy donuts with a grownup loved one (mom, dad, grandmother, uncle, etc.).

Prospective Family Open House

We are hosting a new series of prospective family open house events. The next is Monday, April 11 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Please help us by letting your friends, neighbors, and colleagues.

Other Open House dates include: April 11, April 25, May 9, and May 23. For more information, please contact Ms. Escalante ([email protected]).

Easter Break

Please note that we are closed for Easter Break on Friday, April 15 and Monday, April 18.

Stanford Testing

Grades 3-5 will have Stanford Testing the week of April 25. Mr. Waller is coordinating these standardized tests. The results are used to help us track student progress and help us identify potential areas of curriculum improvement.

TPA Volunteers Needed

We are working on a number of events for both this year and next that need volunteer help. Please contact Ms. Escalante for more information.

Thank you again for your support.

It’s a great time to be a Titan,
