Holy Trinity Episcopal School
Every parent wants their child to have an education that includes excellent academics and supports social and emotional growth. As such, many families choose to begin their child’s education during the important early childhood years (3-5 years old).
At Holy Trinity Episcopal School, we recognize the importance of early childhood education. Engaging and enriching early childhood education can play a significant role in helping children build the foundation for future academic achievement and personal growth.
The capstone experience in our early childhood program is our kindergarten class. This class offers top-notch instruction, hands-on discovery, and a supportive, personalized learning environment.
What You Can Expect from Our Private Kindergarten Curriculum
Experiential Learning and Discovery
Our kindergarten program uses proven instructional methods including hands-on teaching and discovery methods to help young students learn foundational concepts. Students can explore their interests and make decisions about their daily tasks to foster natural curiosity.
Comprehensive Literacy Development Curriculum and Beyond
We use proven educational techniques to teach literacy skills to our kindergarten students. Our curriculum includes:
- Phonemic awareness
- Coding and decoding words
- Visual cues
- Practical applications
- Literature-focused teaching
Along with helping students develop critical literacy skills, we incorporate numerous other subjects into the kindergarten curriculum, including:
- Social studies
- Physical education
- Religious study
Collaboration and Social Development
Our kindergarten students have plenty of opportunities to socialize and collaborate with other students in safe instructional environments. At the end of their kindergarten year, students should feel confident working on tasks with other students and socializing in a positive, supportive manner.
Our intenitonally small class sizes (maximum of 16 in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten) allows students to receive personalized instruction from highly qualified educators. This more personalized approach creates a safe space for students to explore and receive feedback from teachers. In addition, students develop a trusting and supportive relationship with thier teacher. Getting to know our students as individuals, not just a person in a desk, helps teachers at HTES better meet the needs of their students.
